Rami thought he was visiting a neighbor to install internet service. A brief encounter at her door turned a routine appointment into a mystery he could not dismiss.
A new life in the village
After losing his mother and aunt in an accident, Rami spent years living alone. As city expenses rose, he moved into his father’s old house in a quiet village.
He opened a small shop selling phones, repairing computers, and connecting homes to the internet. Most days passed predictably between his shop and home.
One day, a woman named Seham came in to add credit to her phone. She also asked him about installing internet service at her house.
The first impression
Seham wore a face veil and behaved quietly and politely. During their conversation, Rami learned that she lived nearby, almost opposite his home in the next street.
Her reserved manner led him to form a particular impression of her. They arranged an installation appointment, and nothing unusual happened during that first meeting.
When he arrived at her home, however, a woman without a veil answered the door. Rami noticed her green eyes. She went inside, and moments later Seham appeared wearing her usual veil.
The voice and eyes seemed remarkably similar. Rami tried to convince himself that the first woman might have been Seham’s sister.
He completed the installation and left, but the encounter stayed with him. He had no proof of anything and no clear explanation for what he had seen.
Questions behind an ordinary service call
Their paths continued to cross through subscription renewals and other internet arrangements. As they talked more, he learned that Seham was married but had been staying at her family’s home for several months after a disagreement with her husband.
She also spent considerable time alone.
Each new detail increased Rami’s curiosity. Was the woman who opened the door Seham herself? Why had she been living away from her husband? And how much did his first impression really tell him about her life?
The written account introduces those questions without resolving them. The accompanying narrated video continues the story of how an ordinary connection between a shopkeeper and his neighbor became something neither had initially planned.
